Pupil Parliament

Pupil Parliament is an annual event held at the Norton Rose Fulbright offices. It brings together Rights Respecting Ambassadors and School Councillors from eight E1 Partnership Schools to discuss issues that matter to children and young people.

Founded in 2005, Pupil Parliament promotes pupil voice and leadership. The event takes place in a mock parliament setting, where pupils debate key topics and ask questions to a panel of professionals and experts. These discussions help pupils develop confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of rights and responsibilities.

Following the event, pupils work together to create action plans. These are then taken back to their schools and developed throughout the year to raise awareness and create positive change.

The E1 Schools Pupil Parliament encourages collaboration between schools, giving pupils the opportunity to meet others, share ideas, and work collectively on common issues. Osmani Primary School leads this strand of the East 1 Schools Partnership.

Throughout the year, pupils may also meet through partnership school council meetings or other forums to continue working on their shared action plans.
